My Big Fat Review of The Year

Posted: December 19, 2013 in Uncategorized

At the end of what seems a reaaaallllly looooong term, we should take some time to look back and reflect on what went well and what could have been better. This doesn’t just apply to students but also to teachers. For me, I know there are things I want to do better next term. I want homework to be more meaningful, relevant and fun, I want my students to be more challenged, I want to use technology to support your learning…

To help me improve, please take a few moments to fill in the review sheet below. Please email it to Those who return a survey will receive a small token of my appreciation.

No, we’re not watching a film!

At the risk of sounding like a Scrooge, I’m taking this opportunity to remind all my students that we’ll be working right up until the end of term. We’ve still got a lot to get through so please, don’t come into the classroom asking that age-old question: ‘are we doing something fun today?’. The answer is yes, hopefully! I will be doing my best to plan fun, challenging lessons that help you reach your targets right up until the last day. I hope you’ll take every opportunity to learn, participate and produce work of the highest standard.

Things that students say that really wind me up:

1. Can we watch a film?…
2. …All the other teachers let us.
3. Can we have a fun lesson?
4. Are we doing work today?
