Hi there year 9!
Today, you’ll be planning and beginning to write your own blog post.
This can be about any topic you find interesting, but it’s best to choose something that you find interesting and/or know a lot about.
Use the planning sheet to help you firm up your ideas. Consider the following:
- The tone needs to be informal and engaging (no boring vocab!)
- Make sure you know the purpose of your blog, if it’s to describe, you’ll need to use lots of lovely imagery and interesting adjectives. If it’s to persuade you’ll need to think about how to hook your reader and then use the right techniques to win them over to you way of thinking! Maybe you want to inform your readers – in which case, make sure you’ve got your facts straight!
- The content needs to be well organised into paragraphs and in a logical order. Furthermore, don’t forget the connectives! (See what I did there?)
- You might want to add images to make your blog post even more interesting.
Good luck everyone! I’ll be posting a selection of the best ones right here on my blog so your writing can get a wider audience – so make sure you check that spelling… you don’t want tols of nistakes! š
